What is a Humanist?

Humanists are atheists and agnostics who make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values. We take responsibility for our actions and base our ethics on the goals of human welfare, happiness and fulfilment. We seek to make the best of the one life we have by creating meaning and purpose for ourselves, individually and together. British Humanist Association 2011.

West Dorset Humanists

West Dorset Humanists was started in January 2010 and since then we have grown into a lively and diverse group. We usually meet at the Wessex Royale Hotel, High West Street, Dorchester, on the last Thursday in each month and have a talk followed by questions and discussion. Twice per year we hold social events. New members are always welcome. If you would like to find out more then please ring Jo Adams on 07921 311518, e-mail us at westdorsethumanists@hotmail.com, or find us on Facebook.

Quote of the day
